What’s the Best WordPress SEO Plugin?
For awhile, Yoast was my favorite SEO Plugin. It had some nifty features that others did not, so I made the switch.
At some point, it seems like Yoast became more concerned with nifty features than with making sure the plugin functioned as intended. The plugin got heavier and starting conflicting and/or simply not working properly. The features became gimmicky.
Some people like those features, since they are designed for people who aren’t involved in SEO full-time – there is definitely a space for that type of software. My accountant laughs at the rinky-dink software I use to manage my expenses and invoices. It’s simple and perhaps even gimmicky, but for me, it works. Im not an accountant, just like most website owners are not SEOs.
I’ve also heard comments that Yoast is more susceptible to hackers. I don’t know, but I would not be surprised if this were true.
Just keep in mind that those little green, red and yellow indicators are not going to get your site onto page one of Google. Then again – they won’t hurt your rankings either.
So if your knowledge of SEO is limited and you are managing your own site, Yoast might be a good option. If your interest or knowledge of SEO is a.little greater, you may want to consider All-in-One SEO.
